ROLE
Production Designer
Year
When Vivek Gupta approached me to design the runway presentation for his senior thesis collection, I was excited by the opportunity to help shape a show rooted in fashion, craftsmanship, and South Asian influence. His jewelry line and hand-made garments from Delhi became the foundation for an environment that felt intimate, elevated, and culturally connected. I oversaw the production and visual direction of the show, from sourcing scenic elements and lighting to choreographing the runway experience. Design details included a custom screen-printed runway runner, gold Chiavari seating, and a warm palette that complemented the collection without overpowering it.
This project deepened my understanding of live event production and the level of coordination required for a one-night experience. Collaborating across different creative disciplines strengthened my ability to communicate design ideas clearly while balancing aesthetics, logistics, and atmosphere. Most importantly, it allowed me to work within a space that felt personally familiar by combining fashion, storytelling, and elements of my own culture through production design.
